Good morning Residents: With the recent deluge of rain, some residents have noticed to their deck drains are water logged.
With this in mind, The Board of Directors would like to remind residents to check their patio drains and clear them if necessary. Maintaining the deck drains are the responsibility of each homeowner as the decks are for the exclusive use of each resident and are not part of the common area. If the drains are not maintained, water can overflow down the dryer vent, and damage the dryer and interior of the unit.
It is also each homeowner’s responsibility to keep their dryer vents lint free. Poor air flow can lead to dryer damage, longer drying times, and most importantly is a fire hazard.
If you have a wood deck and are having issues finding either the vent or drain, take a look at a neighbor’s “deck-less” patio area to identify it’s location. If you still have trouble locating your drain, please contact Wes Croom (2100) and he will be happy to help you.
Have a great day,
Anna McElroy
